International Cricket Ball Gift Set
Hunts County Bats were established in 1904 making traditional cricket bats and can now rightly proclaim 'Bats Made For Centuries' as their proud slogan. They still make cricket bats in the traditional way and that's why they are so highly prized all over the world.
As well as their famous bats, they now supply a range of top quality cricketing equipment for professional cricketers, including cricket balls.
In 2015 Hunts approached Polmac (UK) Ltd to help create a design for a customized wood gift set, to accommodate 10 'flag' cricket balls. The cricket balls were to be specially manufactured with a printed flag of each full member test nation.
The brief was to design gift sets of exceptional marketable quality, that would add value and meaning to peoples lives, so they would feel proud to own them and share them with family and friends.
They were to be sold through the Lords Cricket Store as special souvenir gift sets, ready for the launch of the 2015 Ashes test series between England and Australia. (England won the series 3 - 2 and regained the Ashes)
After detailed discussions, a pre-production sample was manufactured and the design approved. The manufacturing process then commenced.
The gift sets are made from Lindenwood, a beautiful, light coloured wood with fine grain character and are sealed with a clear, silk lacquer finish.
The lids are hinged with two concealed metal hinges at the rear in a special v-groove stop feature and fastened at the front with two polished brass plated catches.
Internally, the cricket balls are arranged in a pyramid shape on moulded inserts. These are lined with a piece of beautiful, green silk fabric to represent the traditional green turf on which cricket is played.
The apex of the pyramid points to the back where there are two wooden plaques on either side of the box. These are laser printed with the names of the 10 test cricketing nations including...South Africa, India, Pakistan, Australia, New Zealand, England, Sri Lanka, West Indies, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe.
When the gift sets were launched, people appreciated the attention to detail and their irresistible charm and quality. In return, they have rewarded Hunts County Bats with their custom and loyalty - a goal that every good company strives for.
In fact, Hunts County Bats international cricket ball gift sets have proved so successful they're now being rolled out for future international test series.
